Do I need wakeboarding experience?

No. The MasterCraft runs with an instructor who has 15 years of experience and coaches first-timers through the deep-water start. A few falls at first is normal.

Can we wakeboard in the evening?

Yes, until sunset. New York bans towing from sunset to sunrise. Our afternoon trip runs 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm, so plan your last ride before dark.

How many people can ride on one charter?

The MasterCraft holds up to 12 guests. Up to two hours of towed sports are included, and your group shares that time.

Is there a bathroom on the boat?

Yes. The 26' MasterCraft has a bathroom aboard, and so does our 27' Yamaha. That makes a 4-hour day easy for groups.

Can we ride on weekdays?

Yes. Charters run 7 days a week from May 1 to October 15. Weekdays offer more flexible start times.

A good wakeboarding day in the Hamptons depends on two things most people never think about: the wake and the driver. A soft, mushy wake is hard to jump. A driver who pulls too hard or too slow makes the deep-water start a fight. We built our wakeboarding trips around getting both right.

The best boat for wakeboarding in the Hamptons

You can wakeboard behind any of our boats, but we recommend the 26' 2023 MasterCraft X26. Its fast-fill ballast system holds more than 4,000 pounds of water. That weight sinks the stern and builds a clean, firm wake. Seating faces the back of the boat, so your friends can watch every ride. The boat holds up to 12 guests, and it has a bathroom aboard, which matters on a 4-hour day.

Booking from East Hampton? Our 27' Yamaha jet boat also pulls wakeboarders. It holds up to 10 guests and has a bathroom too.

The instructor

The MasterCraft runs with a water sports instructor who has 15 years of experience. If you want real lessons on Long Island's East End, not just a ride, this is the boat to book. That matters most in your first five minutes. Most beginners fall on the start because they pull on the rope or stand up too early. Your instructor talks you through it from the boat and adjusts speed to your weight and skill.

Your first ride, step by step

You start in the water, floating on your back with your knees bent and the board in front of you. The rope handle sits over the board. When the boat pulls, you let it lift you. You don't pull back. Once you're up, you turn your hips toward the front foot and ride. It often takes a few tries, and that's normal.

New York towing rules

New York's towing law has clear rules for anyone towed behind a boat. A second person, at least 10 years old, must watch the rider the whole time. Riders must wear a fastened Coast Guard approved life jacket. Towing is only allowed from sunrise to sunset.

That last rule shapes your booking. Our 7:00 pm sunset cruise isn't a towing trip. On the 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm trip, plan your last ride before the sun goes down.

What is included

Every MasterCraft charter includes up to two hours of towed sports. That covers wakeboarding, wake surfing, water skiing, kneeboarding, and tubing. Your group shares that time. Ask when booking if you want more time on the water behind the boat.
