Your Private Yacht Wedding Venue on the Palm Beach Intracoastal

Picture saying your vows with the Intracoastal all around you and the sun dropping behind the palms. No aisle runner needed. A yacht wedding venue in Palm Beach gives you a ceremony your guests won't forget, plus a built-in after-party on the water.

Palm Beach Boat Charters by Yacht Hampton plans weddings, wedding party cruises and proposals. Our family has run charters for 14 years. Every charter boards at Delray Harbor Club Marina and comes with a Coast Guard-licensed captain. Your own concierge plans the details, so you can focus on each other.

Why Couples Choose a Yacht for Their Wedding

A yacht gives you three things a ballroom can't.

First, privacy. The boat belongs to your wedding party for the whole charter. There's no other event down the hall.

Second, the view. You get open water, waterfront homes and a sunset that changes by the minute. Your photos won't look like anyone else's.

Third, flexibility. You can pick a boat that fits a small group or step up to our 122-foot event yacht. The route, the timing and the catering are all yours to choose, just like on all our private boat charters in Palm Beach.

Getting Married on the Water: Florida License Basics

Most yacht wedding pages skip the legal side. Here are the basics, from the Palm Beach County Clerk. Always check with the Clerk for the latest rules.

  • A Florida marriage license is valid in any Florida county for 60 days.
  • Florida residents must wait three days after the license is issued, unless they take an approved premarital course.
  • Couples who don't live in Florida have no waiting period.
  • Marriage licenses and ceremonies at the Clerk's office are by appointment.

Your ceremony must take place in Florida, and your officiant must be someone allowed to marry couples under Florida law. Our Intracoastal routes stay in Florida waters, and your concierge will build the timing around your officiant.

How We Plan Your Wedding Cruise

Here's how the process works with us.

  • Start with a call: Share your date, guest count and the feel you want.
  • Choose your boat: We match your guest count to the right boat, from 22 feet up to 122 feet.
  • Set the timing: A sunset ceremony is a classic choice. We'll time the cruise to that evening's sunset.
  • Add the extras: Our concierge arranges catering and on-board service.
  • The big day: Your guests board at Delray Harbor Club Marina. Your captain handles the boat. You handle the vows.

Ceremony, Reception or Both?

There's no single way to plan a wedding on the water. Here are the three most common setups.

Ceremony only: Say your vows on board, then head to a reception on land.

Reception only: Marry on land, then bring your guests aboard to celebrate.

Ceremony and reception: Do it all on the water, from the vows to the first toast.

Your concierge will help you pick the setup that fits your guest list and budget.

A Sample Wedding Cruise Timeline

Every wedding is different, but here's how a sunset ceremony often comes together.

  • Guests arrive at Delray Harbor Club Marina and board the boat.
  • The captain cruises to a calm, scenic spot on the Intracoastal.
  • The ceremony begins as the sun gets low.
  • Toasts, catering and photos follow as the sky changes color.
  • The boat cruises back to the marina after dark, with the shoreline lit up.

Your concierge will time each step around that evening's sunset.

Tips for Wedding Guests on a Boat

A few small details make a big difference on the water.

Shoes matter. Flat shoes are safer than heels on a boat deck.

The wind is real. Choose a veil and hairstyle that can handle a breeze.

Sun protection helps. Bring sunscreen for daytime events.

The Intracoastal is calmer than the ocean, which helps guests who worry about seasickness.

If you're bringing a photographer, count them in your guest total. Your concierge will match the boat to your full group.

Proposal Planning Tips

A proposal cruise works best with a little secret planning. Tell your concierge the plan when you book, and keep the details between you. Pick a sunset time for the best light. Think about whether you want a quiet moment for two or friends waiting on board to celebrate.

Questions to Ask Any Yacht Wedding Venue

Before you book anywhere, get clear answers to these questions:

  • Who drives the boat, and what license do they hold?
  • Is fuel included, or billed after the trip?
  • What happens if weather cancels the day?
  • Which boat fits your full guest count?
  • Can they arrange catering and on-board service?

Here's how we answer. A Coast Guard-licensed captain drives. Fuel is included. Weather cancellations get a 28-month rain check. And our concierge handles the boat match and catering.

Picking the Right Season

Weather matters more for a wedding than for almost any other event. South Florida's wet season runs from mid-May to mid-October. Afternoon storms are common in those months.

A morning ceremony can help in summer. For a date that can't move, the drier months outside the wet season are a safer bet. And if weather cancels your charter, you get a 28-month rain check to rebook.

Why Couples Book With Us

A Concierge Who Handles the Details

Weddings have a lot of moving parts. Your concierge plans the boat, route, timing and catering. You get one point of contact.

Licensed Captains on Every Charter

Every captain holds a U.S. Coast Guard license. Your guests can relax and enjoy the day.

A Boat for Every Guest List

Where Your Ceremony Can Take Place

Every charter boards at Delray Harbor Club Marina in Delray Beach. From there, the Intracoastal heads north toward the Boynton Inlet, Manalapan and the estates of Palm Beach. It also heads south toward Boca Raton.

Your concierge will suggest a calm, scenic spot for the ceremony. We welcome couples and guests staying anywhere from Jupiter to Lighthouse Point.
