From our home port in Sag Harbor, your captain can set a course for a secluded cove off Shelter Island, the open views near Montauk, or a quiet anchorage you'll have to yourselves. Our Long Island proposal packages cover the full charter — vessel, crew, route, and timing — so the only thing you plan is the question itself. For couples coming from New York City, it's an easy escape from the city to the water.

Where You'll Propose

Your captain helps you pick the route and the timing. Most couples want the sunset slot. In late June, the sun sets over Sag Harbor Bay around 8:25 PM. The light turns gold, and the bay opens toward Shelter Island.

From our Sag Harbor marina, popular proposal routes run through Sag Harbor Bay, past Shelter Island, and into Gardiners Bay. We can anchor in a quiet cove for the moment, away from the crowds. You tell us the feel you want. We find the spot.

After the Yes

The proposal is just the start. After the yes, many couples toast with a glass of wine on deck. We can also dock-and-dine. Pull up to Sunset Beach on Shelter Island, or Duryea's in Montauk, and walk to dinner.

What if it rains on our date?
You're covered. Yacht Hampton offers a 40-month rain check, so you can rebook your proposal up to 40 months out in the Hamptons or Palm Beach. We watch the forecast with you and move the date if needed.

Where do you depart from, and where can we go?
