1. Lobster Roll Restaurant

Amagansett and Southampton

Fondly referred to as LUNCH, The Lobster Roll is a renowned Hamptons institution — one that gets plenty of free advertising on Instagram. Their original location sits right on Montauk Highway in Amagansett, and they also have a more recently opened spot in Southampton. Slide into one of their wooden booths or picnic tables, and sip a beachy cocktail with your popcorn shrimp. Opt for a classic cold lobster salad roll, or try a hot buttered one. Family-friendly and always fun, LUNCH is the perfect restaurant to go to after a day at the beach or when you need a break from the sun. They don’t take reservations and there’s often a wait, so try to get there early to avoid the line.

2. Bostwick's Chowder House

East Hampton

Another well-established spot, Bostwick’s offers casual local seafood in a laid-back setting. Their original dining location is located on East Hampton’s Pantigo Road, and it features a bustling bar and open patio lined with big round tables. It goes without saying: try the New England or Manhattan clam chowder. Then sample from the raw bar, get a lobster roll or whole steamed lobster or try some of their classic Italian-inspired entrees. Don’t forget to grab some summer soft serve at the window on your way out.

Bostwicks has a second waterfront location called Bostwicks on the Harbor. Head there for a slightly higher-end feel and some of the most beautiful sunsets in the Hamptons.

4. Duryea's

Montauk

As you sip rosé and pluck clams from your seafood tower, you may very well feel like you’ve been transported to St Tropez. The dining deck at Duryea’s extends out over the water, offering an experience that’s equally aesthetic and delicious. Try their raw bar selection, freshly caught lobster, and surprisingly delicious French fries.

Duryea’s has a second location on the North Fork’s Orient Point. Though not in the Hamptons, it’s easy to reach from the Hamptons by boat — and it’s a popular dining destination for Yacht Hampton charters.

5. The Clam Bar

Amagansett

As soon as you step foot at the Clam Bar, you’ll know summer has begun. This well-loved fish shack opens seasonally and has been around for more than 40 years. Its signature red sign and outdoor-only seating offer the perfect beachy vibe. Sample steamers, fried clam strips, and spicy crab and sweet corn bisque. It's always been one of our go-to restaurants — and you really can't go wrong. 6. The Palm

East Hampton

Known primarily as a steak and lobster house, the Palm sits on East Hampton's Main Street below one of the area's most famous hotels: the Huntting Inn. Head there for a quaint and charming environment, and delicious high-end surf and turf. Our favorite seafood dishes to pair with our steaks? The clam platter, crabmeat cocktail, cold tower, and of course, the fresh three-pound lobsters. Tried and true, the Palm is the perfect dining destination for enjoying a delicious meal and beautiful bottle of wine with family, friends, or colleagues — and don’t forget to end with their famous bag of doughnuts and seven-layer chocolate cake.

Gosman’s is located on the water’s edge, right at the entrance to Montauk Harbor. It’s known for its stunning views, delicious seafood cuisine, and casual atmosphere. Head to Gosman’s with the whole family or a big group of friends, and sit outside as you watch the sunset over the water.
