10 Must-Try Hamptons Seafood Restaurants: Official Guide to the Best Restaurants for Seafood in the Hamptons

Your Guide to Seafood in the Hamptons

Discover the top seafood restaurants on Long Island's East End.

Fresh oysters, fried clams, shrimp cocktail. The Hamptons aren’t just a destination for high-end shopping and endless beach days — it’s also a destination for dining at some of Long Island’s best fresh and local seafood restaurants.

From the raw bar to lobster rolls, read on to explore our list of 10 must-try seafood restaurants in the Hamptons, each with its own unique atmosphere and specialties.

1. Lobster Roll Restaurant

Amagansett and Southampton

Fondly referred to as LUNCH, The Lobster Roll is a renowned Hamptons institution — one that gets plenty of free advertising on Instagram. Their original location sits right on Montauk Highway in Amagansett, and they also have a more recently opened spot in Southampton. Slide into one of their wooden booths or picnic tables, and sip a beachy cocktail with your popcorn shrimp. Opt for a classic cold lobster salad roll, or try a hot buttered one. Family-friendly and always fun, LUNCH is the perfect restaurant to go to after a day at the beach or when you need a break from the sun. They don’t take reservations and there’s often a wait, so try to get there early to avoid the line.

2. Bostwick's Chowder House

East Hampton

Another well-established spot, Bostwick’s offers casual local seafood in a laid-back setting. Their original dining location is located on East Hampton’s Pantigo Road, and it features a bustling bar and open patio lined with big round tables. It goes without saying: try the New England or Manhattan clam chowder. Then sample from the raw bar, get a lobster roll or whole steamed lobster or try some of their classic Italian-inspired entrees. Don’t forget to grab some summer soft serve at the window on your way out.

Bostwicks has a second waterfront location called Bostwicks on the Harbor. Head there for a slightly higher-end feel and some of the most beautiful sunsets in the Hamptons.

3. Cowfish

Hampton Bays

The ultimate surf and turf destination, this Hampton Bays’ hot spot is situated right off Montauk Highway before Shinnecock Hills. As its name suggests, it offers the best of both land and sea. From diver sea scallops to blackened mahi fish and a full steak menu, there’s something for everyone to enjoy — including the panoramic water views. Sit on Cowfish's elevated dining deck and take in the sunset while you enjoy imaginative dishes and beloved house specialties.

4. Duryea's

As you sip rosé and pluck clams from your seafood tower, you may very well feel like you’ve been transported to St Tropez. The dining deck at Duryea’s extends out over the water, offering an experience that’s equally aesthetic and delicious. Try their raw bar selection, freshly caught lobster, and surprisingly delicious French fries.

Duryea’s has a second location on the North Fork’s Orient Point. Though not in the Hamptons, it’s easy to reach from the Hamptons by boat — and it’s a popular dining destination for Yacht Hampton charters.

5. The Clam Bar

As soon as you step foot at the Clam Bar, you’ll know summer has begun. This well-loved fish shack opens seasonally and has been around for more than 40 years. Its signature red sign and outdoor-only seating offer the perfect beachy vibe. Sample steamers, fried clam strips, and spicy crab and sweet corn bisque. It's always been one of our go-to restaurants — and you really can't go wrong. The Clam Bar doesn't take reservations for parties of 8 or fewer, so simply stop by when you feel like some cold drinks and fresh shellfish.

6. The Palm

East Hampton

Known primarily as a steak and lobster house, the Palm sits on East Hampton's Main Street below one of the area's most famous hotels: the Huntting Inn. Head there for a quaint and charming environment, and delicious high-end surf and turf. Our favorite seafood dishes to pair with our steaks? The clam platter, crabmeat cocktail, cold tower, and of course, the fresh three-pound lobsters. Tried and true, the Palm is the perfect dining destination for enjoying a delicious meal and beautiful bottle of wine with family, friends, or colleagues — and don’t forget to end with their famous bag of doughnuts and seven-layer chocolate cake.

7. Gosman's Seafood Restaurant

Gosman’s is located on the water’s edge, right at the entrance to Montauk Harbor. It’s known for its stunning views, delicious seafood cuisine, and casual atmosphere. Head to Gosman’s with the whole family or a big group of friends, and sit outside as you watch the sunset over the water. Try their clams casino, local steamers, and New England clam chowder to start. Then, order from their lengthy lobster menu — steamed? Stuffed and broiled? Just the tails? Whatever you’re in the mood for, it’ll be sure to satisfy your seafood cravings.

8. Crow's Nest

Montauk’s Crow’s Nest offers beautiful hotel cottages for out-of-towners, but it’s also home to an eclectic seafood restaurant. Beausoleil oysters with cocktail sauce and cucumber mignonette, local tuna and fluke tiradito with Hawaiian sea salt, local striped bass with hemp and harissa — the list goes on. Head to Crow’s Nest to enjoy fresh seafood, craft cocktails, and decor that delivers the perfect balance of inviting and elevated. Plus, don’t forget to peek at the dessert menu before you leave.

8. Morty's Oyster Stand

Situated off Montauk Highway in Amagansett, Morty’s Oyster Stand is another one of our favorite seafood restaurants with a particularly refreshing vibe. This restaurant and bar offer all the staples: seafood towers, fried calamari, crab cakes, and of course, a rotating list of east coast oysters and other raw bar items. Dine in and enjoy a steamed lobster or lobster roll, and try one of their fresh and delicious salads. With its lively soundtrack and signature frozen drinks, Morty’s always draws laid-back guests looking for a fun time.

10. Il Buco Al Mare

Il Buco al Mare sits on Amangansett’s quiet Main Street, offering a warm dining atmosphere that’s still undeniably elegant. Centered around the best local seafood and produce, the menu features simple and delicious Italian fare. Their signature focaccias are made with ancient flour from Sicily, and they’re topped with savory vegetables and fish from smoked anchovies to fermented sardines. Handpick your favorites from their raw and tinned fish menus, and enjoy a whole branzino or poached cod as your main. With plenty of pasta, meat, and veggie options as well, Il Buco is sure to please more than just the seafood lovers in your group.
