From East Hampton to Montauk, here are Yacht Hampton's top 7 picks for the Hamptons' best coffee shops.
This classic Hamptons coffee shop has multiple cafe and espresso bar locations across the Hamptons, North Fork, and East End. Hampton Coffee is served in dozens of east coast restaurants, and they're equally popular for their bags of coffee beans sold online and in retail stores across Long Island. Stop by their Water Mill, Southampton, or Montauk location during your stay in the Hamptons, and sip hand-roasted coffee while nibbling on fresh food and delicious baked goods. Whether you head to Hampton Coffee for a homemade breakfast, lunch, dessert, or just a cup of joe, you're sure to leave satisfied — and caffeinated. Don't forget to try the Wild Maine Blueberry flavored coffee and the cinnamon rolls before you leave the shop.
Happy Jack. Teddy Boy. Dirty Harry. These infamous coffee drinks are only a few from the Jack's Stir Brew "Local Favorites" menu in Amagansett. With different cinnamon, maple, honey, vanilla, and chocolate blends, there's a coffee flavor for everyone at Jack's — even if you prefer your brew straight up. Their baked goods selection consists of different delicious vegan treats, and their built-in marketplace offers a convenient spot to purchase some curated pantry essentials. With locations across Manhattan, it's a top choice for many New York City transplants — but Jack's coffee tastes even more delicious when you're sipping it by the beach.
This charming coffee shop sits on a quaint side street off of Sag Harbor's picturesque Main Street. The modern rustic decor draws you in, and the gourmet coffee blends and tasty eats keep you coming back. Stop in for an americano, espresso, caramel macchiato, or even a refreshing iced white tea — and enjoy some baked goods while you're at it. Sagtown has a bunch of indoor seating and a relaxing outdoor patio that's perfect for people-watching. Plus, they serve acai bowls, avocado toast, bagel sandwiches, and all the sweet treats you'll need to enjoy with your coffee. It's one of our favorite coffee joints in Sag Harbor, and it definitely ranks as a local favorite.
Grindstone Coffee & Donuts has been open year-round in Sag Harbor since 2016, and you can smell the fresh donuts all the way down Main Street. They post their daily donut selection on their Instagram (expect everything from Nutella to coconut passionfruit), and they display them in their front window for anyone walking by. Regular, filled, holes — they're our go-to for everything donut, and they come up with a ton of creative flavors. Of course, we're here to talk about their coffee. Grindstone Coffee & Donuts serves the usual suspects from cortados to cold brew, as well as some eye-catching specialty drinks. Spicy mocha, peanut butter mocha, honey lavender latte...get adventurous and try one. Trust us, you won't regret it.
Part coffee bar, part lifestyle store, Sylvester & Co. offers a unique Hamptons coffee experience. Founded right in Sag Harbor in 1989, Sylvester & Co. Modern General is home to Lynda Sylvester’s curated selection of life supplies. It's a 100% women-owned and managed small business, and it sources its goods from some of the best independent artists and manufacturers. The reason it's on this list? Their beloved "Dreamy Coffee" roast and renowned cold brew. Stop in and get a freshly made brew at the bar, or purchase bags of coffee beans, canned nitro brews, and canisters of double-dark truffle hot chocolate to go. Plus, shop around and people-watch while you're at it. If you head to Sylvester & Co. for the coffee, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much more there is to explore.
This cute cafe and restaurant on Amagansett's quiet Main Street is open seasonally every summer, serving delicious organic food and drinks. Walk in the front door and you'll find a full restaurant, bar, and bustling outdoor space in its side alleyway. But on the street is where the real magic happens. Rosie's coffee bar has a window that opens out onto Main Street, so you can pop your head in to order anything from a matcha latte to an iced cappuccino. Looking for something a little more out there? Try their rose latte made with Amina Mundi Organic Rose powder — and enjoy it with the crowd-favorite Quinoa & Greens Bowl. Head to Rosie's to sit outside and enjoy a relaxing meal, or pick up an iced espresso at the window while you stroll around town.
Pierre's is a beloved restaurant in the heart of Bridgehampton, but it also has one of the best cafes and French bakeries in the Hamptons located just one door over. The marketplace is attached to the restaurant, and it serves delicious, no-fuss coffee and artisanal teas. Plus, they're known for their smoothies, croissants, and homemade ice cream. Opt for a café au lait, a café noir, or a berry and orange blossom green tea. As you sip your coffee and peruse the fresh baguettes and sweet Nutella and chocolate treats, you'll feel like you just stepped foot in Europe.
Whether you're seeking an early morning fix or an afternoon recharge, any of these coffee shops are sure to satisfy your caffeine cravings — and charm you with their unique personalities. While we're partial to the spots near Yacht Hamptons home in the Sag Harbor marina, you truly can't go wrong. Choose your next cafe destination based on where you're staying (whether that's Montauk, East Hampton, or anywhere else on the East End), and check out their coffee menus on Google if you're interested in doing a deep dive. Head to their website contact pages to find their exact locations, and then stop by for the blend of your choice. Can't settle on one cafe? Spend the summer trying them all, and decide the best coffee for yourself.
